I still get to freshen up in my room and dress myself. I am picked up and moved to the OR. Here the surgeon is still calmly telling everything. I feel myself so comfortable. I just don't have any nerves. 12:15 I had surgery for Gastric Bypass. 15:10 I wake up. I am taken to my room to rest further. The nurses regularly check if I still need to pee, if I have enough left in the IV, and if I want a little custard or broth. Wow never experienced such service before. The following day, the surgeon comes to me and says I am being discharged. I get to go home and go to rehab. That went very well and was also called by the surgeon how I was feeling, what a service. On 11-07-2022 I wrote this little story and am now -50 KG (182KG now 132KG). To anyone reading this who is unsure whether to transfer or want surgery here I can't say anything but YES do it here. surgery. Initially we went to NOK but ended up at Weightworks through word of mouth. After we called for information, we were fortunately able to visit soon. We had a conversation with Dr. Berends and he explained everything exactly from the first step to the last step. After the talk, we were also given a tour. We really couldn't have imagined a better place!!! Both before, during and after surgery we felt like a human being and not a number and felt like we were in a hotel. Super nice experience had. The operations went well, recovery went super and now we are six months po and have lost the necessary kilos, Thanas 41 kilos and Wendy 33 kilos. We have a much more active and happy life. And that thanks to this great team with golden heart which looks beyond numbers and money and considers you as a human being. It was like talking to someone you've known for years.After a weigh-in moment and some measurements, I was given a tour even into the operating room. January 26, 2022 was my big day..... I went in full force and let everything happen to me. In the room where they prepare you for the operation I had a very nice conversation about Curacao because I was going on vacation there this summer. The surgery went super well and I had almost no pain. I had no post-surgery complaints at all, and I told everyone who wanted to hear how wonderful Weight Works is. By now we are just over 6 months along and I have had some great experiences. For example, a day at efteling where I only thought during the first roller coaster.... I FIT IN. options for losing weight. I had been to every dietician in the area, I knew every gym in the area inside and out, but still I remained overweight. The family doctor sent me to the bariatric center in Bergen op Zoom almost immediately. I completed the preliminary process there well and was on the waiting list to have surgery. Intensely happy, relieved, but secretly very nervous. As we all know, corona came around the corner not much later, where my surgery was also delayed. Together with Dr. Edo we discussed the different options and from that we came to the conclusion that a Mini Gastric Bypass will be the most suitable for me. The contact between me and Weight Works was excellent. If I had questions, they could ask them and they took the time for me. So the day of surgery I was not nervous at all, they made me feel good. Therefore, I would recommend Weight Works to anyone else. My adventure to a new version of myself has gone tremendously well with no complications and this in part because of Weight Works! crashing and yo-yo living. It was time to really choose for myself so went after the family doctor and got a referral letter for the Dutch obesity clinic there I started the preliminary process but then corona set in and if went into lock down I got really sad about this now everything was going to take even longer. On Facebook, I came across someone who said she was going to switch to WeightWorks Amersfoort. I started calling that and my health insurance so everything was in order. I was so happy to be able to come by for an interview. I was so warmly welcomed there by such sweet staff. The conversation with Dr. Edo was so pleasant. My story was really listened to. I was given the green light and I was able to make an appointment for surgery right away. At Weightworks, it's like a hotel. The surgery went mega well after a few hours the doctor came by to explain everything. The first eight weeks were pretty tough but I was so happy because I could finally lose weight properly. Now after 6 months I have lost 36.4 pounds my BMI has gone from 44 to 29.4. It was when I started 109.9 pounds my BMI was at 44. Here I am already so happy. We are not there yet but am confident that my end goals will be met. I would recommend it to anyone if you are ready to embark on this journey to definitely go to WeightWorks Amersfoort.
